Gift Guide: Small Irish Business Edition

Did you know that Irish consumers spent nearly 5 BILLION on Christmas last year and that number is expected to be significantly higher this year! I wondered how much of that we gave to small, Irish businesses…

With that in mind, I asked my Instagram followers to recommend some great small businesses and I can tell you… there are some deadly businesses gracing our shores. Here are just some where you will hopefully find some gift inspo!

The Feel Good Collective

The Feel Good Collective is not only one of the best business ideas launched in a while, but their Instagram page is one of the most positive and uplifting that I follow! It is owned by a mother of 3, Tara… and what a woman she is. While on her journey with supporting her own mental health and well being, Tara wants to make effective self help tools available for others.

From self care and gratitude journals, to happiness and motivational cards and calendars, candles and essential oils… I couldn’t think of a better place to find a gift for the one you love. Shop here.

Designer Soy Wax Melts

If you’ve been following me for any length of time on social media you will know that I’m absolutely obsessed with smells!

So this company, Designer Soy Wax Melts, is one that makes all of my smelly senses tingle! The company was founded after a new mother of a child with allergies, struggled to find natural, non-harmful home fragrances. You know what they say, if you want anything done right, do it yourself and so she did!

You can get wax melts, diffusers, room sprays, candles and they’ve even created selection boxes for Christmas! The fragrances include your fave Zoflora scents AND Jo Malone inspired scents. You might recall one of my rants about Jo Malone discontinuing one of my all time favourite perfumes, Vanilla & Anise, well… they stock that scent and it makes me emotional!

You can follow them on Instagram for some Inspo or shop here.

GAGABABY.IE

Even though I’m not a GAA fan myself, I think this is a class idea for those who are! The idea came about when a mother, who wanted to dress her newborn baby for a match, could find nothing but shorts! So she made her own Dublin themed babygro and GAGA Baby was born.

GAGA Baby can create personalised baby hurls, county baby gros, aprons, hurl shaped chopping boards and more! There are so many gifts to choose from for both children and adults and I also think these are great gift ideas for those who live abroad.

The Bitch Box

You know your one with the airfryer? Gina? The Daly Dish! Well, her and her fella Karol make the funniest cards you will ever see! Gas cards, for gas people and ALL occasions!

If you’re easily offended, do not click on this link here or follow them on Instagram! If you love the craic, you have to follow them as well as The Daly Dish (Gina) and Mister Dish (Karol).

Love The Mug

I included Love the Mug in my gift guide last year and I’m delighted to see them going just as strong this year! They make the cutest, sassiest, funniest and even motivational… fine China mugs (made in Ireland) and I think they’re class!  Is there a better gift you could get the tea/coffee lover in your life?

Story Maps Bespoke

Well, if you’ve learned one thing about me from following my blog, it’s that I love travelling 🙂 So naturally, I think this concept is genius!

Story Maps are just that… any story or occasion told through maps. For example, you could choose where a couple met, where they live and where they got married and they will create a beautiful piece of art. I LOVE this idea and it’s so personal too. You can contact the team and order your Story Map through their Instagram.

Millies Unique Bowtique

I can’t imagine the look on a child’s face waking up to a box of Disney Princess bows! How cute are these? Millies Unique Bowtique has a bow for every occasion and I really mean that. You have to have a look on their Instagram, they are deadly 🙂

Orders can be placed via Instagram.

Cosy Dayzzz

Cosy Dayzzz is a PYJAMA SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE!!! I mean… absolute genius! Is there anything in the world better than fresh pyjamas? I was gifted a box a couple of months ago and when the idea got A LOT of love when I featured them on my Instagram!

Mine came with a little candle, slipper socks and a hot chocolate, ingredients for the perfect night in basically! My Tinkerbell pyjamas have been washed a few times and they have held their size and their shape! Lots more designs to choose from.

You can purchase once off boxes (€18) or sign up for a weekly (€15.50) or monthly (€18) subscription, either way; it is such a lovely gift to someone or yourself.

You can follow the ladies on Instagram or shop here.

The Book Resort

I don’t think their is a better gift to get the book worm in your life than well… a book 😛 The Book Resort offers once off gift boxes (€25) or monthly subscription services (€23). That price includes delivery, a brand new book, Irish-made chocolate and a little surprise. Such a nice gift for those of us who can stay off our phones long enough to get through a book :p

You can follow them on Instagram or shop here.

Bouquet Box

An Irish couple established Bouquet Box after discovering a gap in the market. Other cities like London and New York offered flower subscription services but there was nothing in Ireland.

The team at Bouquet Box aim to get your flowers to you within 4 days of being picked which means they will stay fresher and live for longer. Subscription options include weekly, fortnightly and monthly, with each bouquet costing €20.

Have a look on their Instagram to see the high quality bouquets they’re making or you can shop directly here.

Brew Box Coffee

You know, when I come across a business idea like this, I always think “WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THAT”! I mean… a COFFEE subscription service, gimme that! HA! Is there a tea subscription service yet? If not, someone get on that ASAP :p

Brew Box subscribers will get to try a different coffee bean every month and some months, they even include super rare blends! You can get an idea from their Instagram as to what’s included in every box. They offer once off boxes (€18) and other subscriptions including an annual one (€230)- shop here. Now the next box won’t be shipped until Jan but they will make you a deadly card so you’ll have a gift on the day. High 5 for this idea!

The Casting Emporium

I’ve seen casts done before but the detail behind those done by The Casting Emporium is second to none! This is a beautiful gift to get new parents but really, a casting can be made for anyone. The casts with older hands are so sweet and would be such a treasure to keep. You can order here or contact them through their Instagram.

Irish Beauty Websites

2019 saw a lot of new Irish online businesses pop up (something good to come out of Brexit :p) and plenty of them were beauty related! Some of my favourites include:

www.cosmeticsonline.ie

www.thebeautybasket.ie

www.thebeautykit.com

I hope this has given you some gift inspo and that we might have helped contributing to a lovely Christmas for these small businesses!

Happy holidays :p

Carly.
