Have you ever heard of people travelling to Bulgaria and coming home with a suitcase full of skincare? Yes… this is a thing! Bulgaria is known for it’s skincare simply because it is good and it is CHEAP! You all should know by now that I love a good deal 😛
Last year, I bought a good few Cosmetics Bulgaria products and I was also sent some as a gift* 🙂 I found some gems and I want to tell you all about them. If you’re looking for a decent budget skincare range, whether it be anything in this post or not, have a look on their website!
Note: While Cosmetics Bulgaria offers a huge range of brands, and caters for all skin types, I have combination skin so bare that in mind if you’re considering any of my recommendations. If you have dry or oily skin, have a read of the descriptions and only order products to suit your skin type.
*Some of the products mentioned were gifts from the company and I said I would write about my faves 😀
Probiotic Yoghurt of Bulgaria
I am not a fan of the Bulgarian Rose range because I find the smell of roses overpowering! But, although it contains rose oil, the Yoghurt of Bulgaria range is a different story. It smells so clean and fresh and the products are so good! This is actually my favourite brand on offer from the company. Here are my picks:
Probiotic Renewing Hand Cream
Moisturising, non-greasy and quickly absorbs! This is a great hand cream and as I said, it smells divine!
Price: €1.28 and you can pick it up here.
Probiotic Ultra Delicate Cleansing Milk
I’m not usually a fan of cleansing milks simply because I don’t feel they are ever strong enough to remove makeup. This one though, does a pretty decent job as a first cleanser (I ALWAYS double cleanse- remove makeup first, then cleanse again with my “good” cleanser).
Price: €3.58 and you can buy it here.
Probiotic Anti-wrinkle Night Cream
This night cream claims to rejuvenate and regenerate your skin overnight. I can’t tell whether or not it does that but I can tell you that it is a rich, intense moisturiser and my skin felt so soft the mornings after.
Price: €4.09 and you can buy it here.
Dr. Derm Professional
Dr. Derm is one of the most expensive brands on offer from Cosmetics Bulgaria. If you’re looking for some high end skincare without the price tag, this is definitely a brand worth exploring. Amy from Shapes & Shadows Blog is a brand ambassador for Cosmetics Bulgaria, and she has written in detail about Dr. Derm. Have a read here if you fancy seeing her thoughts and other products that are available.
Cleanse & Peel
As mentioned above, I’ve combination skin, meaning it is oily in some areas and dry in others. It’s also acne prone so it’s important that I remove those excess oils every day. The Cleanse & Peel from Dr. Derm is targeted at those with acne or problematic skin and aims to reduce sebum secretion (acne causing). It’s a foaming cleanser, which I prefer, so it is great at removing makeup. It can be also used as a peel off mask! I didn’t find that overly effective when I tried it so I stuck to using it as a cleanser only.
Price: €12.27 and you can grab one here.
Sea Pearls Serum
Now listen, if you don’t like shimmery things, you won’t like this! I wanted to mention this first because that could be a deal breaker for some. This serum (see below how cool it looks!) contains duo pearl capsules with sturgeon caviar and marine collagen. and claims to help with the good fight against wrinkles. I find it a fantastic primer too! When you apply it, the pearls burst and leave a silvery shimmer. Instead of drying right in, it stays a bit tacky, making it the ideal surface for foundation (it sticks to it, making it last longer).
Price: €25.57 and you can buy it here.
4 Hyaluronic Acid Serum
I would say everyone is sick to death or hearing about Hyaluronic Acid when it comes to skincare but it is an amazing ingredient. It holds up to 1000 times it’s own weight in water, making skin plump and hydrated! It’s my fave skincare ingredient although I’ve been told that will change once I try retinol 😛 I use this as a moisturiser though rather than a serum and again, it makes for an awesome primer! It’s a really unique formula actually. It looks like a cloudy gel but feels like silicone when applying! It’s awesome!
Price: €13.81 and can be purchased here.
Organic Wooden Spoon Body Butters
These are the coolest! They’re essentially body butters but a butter to oil type formula… get me? So in the tub, they look like a butter, but when you apply it, it turns into an oil. Love these! They come in different smells including lavender if that’s your thing (not mine… HATE lavender).
Price: €9.67 and you can get them all here.
Essential Oils
Hands up who has a diffuser? I’ve been loving mine lately. I bought it for really cheap of a Chinese website (can’t find the name :() and I just love putting it on in the hall to diffuse around the whole house! Anyway, Cosmetics Bulgaria stock essential oils. My faves are lemon and bergamot but you can have a scroll and see what you’d like.
Price: From €2.34 and you can shop here.
Arsy & Amaranth
I really liked the day cream from this brand and so did my husband actually. He has psoriasis and loved this cream because it’s light, moisturising, contains SPF and fast absorbing. Most products contains hyaluronic acid and it is so cheap!
Price: €3.94 and you can buy it here.
Happy Shopping! I only included products that I tried myself but there is so much on that website! I found the descriptions really helpful while I was browsing so give them a read too.
Cosmetics Bulgaria deliver to Ireland from €10 (5 to 10 working days) and while it is dearer than usual, the products are so cheap, it’s worth it. Oh and they will be at the RDS Beauty Show in March (Stand K27) if you want to save on the delivery and fancy a day out :p
Thanks for reading as always,
