I over think everything, absolutely everything. So when I find my mind wandering, I’ll put fresh bed clothes on the bed, light a candle, have a cuddle and read one of my books. It’s these little things that help me to be present in the moment, in other words, to be mindful. I’ve read loads of books on mindfulness and well-being and wanted to share with you some of my favourites.
Considering this book has sold more than 19 million copies worldwide, this probably isn’t the first time you’ve heard of it. I read The Secret when I was a teenager and it has been my religion ever since! It’s all about the law of attraction which is something I believe in wholeheartedly. It essentially means “like attracts like” i.e. whatever energy you put out into the universe, you’ll get back. For example, if you’re really annoyed and go about your day exerting negative energy, you’ll attract more negative energy because the likelihood is that people will react negatively to your negative behaviour. The book explains how the law of attraction can be used to attract health, wealth, happiness and whatever else you want from life.
If you don’t like reading, The Secret comes in an audio book and the film is on Netflix!
